Training & Certification
SoftWave is powerful technology, but in untrained hands, it can do little good, worsen pain, or slow recovery.
The gap between a technician with 2,000+ treatments and someone fresh out of training is huge:
One brings clinical instincts and precision, the other might be pointing and clicking without knowing why.
SoftWave Core Training Elements
Anatomy
& Physiology
Aspiring technicians must master musculoskeletal anatomy, nerves, muscles, fascia, and blood flow to ensure treatments reach the right spots while avoiding sensitive or contraindicated areas.
Treatment Protocols
Certification requires mastery of established treatment protocols for common conditions, including tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, neuropathies, and post-surgical recovery. Technicians also learn how to adapt protocols for complex or multi-site complaints.
SoftWave
Physics
Know how unfocused shockwaves propagate through tissues, the differences between energy densities, and how tissue response changes with dosage and depth. Technicians learn to adjust parameters based on patient needs and treatment area.
Hands-on
Learning
Instructors observe technicians performing treatments on multiple body regions. Correct hand positioning, depth adjustment, and pressure application are heavily emphasized to ensure
consistency and safety
Patient Assessments
Before certification, technicians must learn to evaluate the patient’s pain, range of motion and tissue sensitivity to create an individualized, safe, and effective treatment plan.
Safety & Communication
Hopeful technicians are trained to explain procedures, manage patient comfort, and recognize contraindications such as implants, infections, or clotting disorders to ensure patient safety
throughout the healing process.
SoftWave Certification Requirements
Certification is required for every SoftWave provider, proving they meet strict standards of safety and skill.
Experience is the differentiator that sharpens a technician's judgement and skill.
Years of practice and thousands of treatments turn certified knowledge into confident, patient-focused care.

Expert Guidance
Every technician trains directly with certified instructors, ensuring skills are learned the right way from the start.
Rigorous Exams
Challenging oral and written exams assess academic, practical, and emotional competency to deliver superior patient care.
Real Patients
Certification requires supervised treatments, giving
technicians real-world practice under expert oversight.
Ongoing Training
Certified technicians must meet continuous education requirements to maintain their SoftWave certification.
